Squeaky Clean

These glorious birds are quite particular about their cleanliness. I watched this adult bald eagle meticulously run every feather on it's body through its beak, carefully cleaning each one. This is called preening. Not only are they removing food and debris from their feather, but also distributing the oils to keep them nice and waterproof for they next hunting expedition.
